A head teacher has made an appeal for information after her school fell victim to heating oil theft three times.
Oakthorpe Primary School near Ashby has had thousands of litres of the fuel taken since November 2011, with the same gang believed to have broken in three times, the Leicester Mercury reports.
Head Donna Moulds said the most recent incident happened in late May, when around a thousand litres went missing.
It comes in the same week that Meadow Bridge Primary in Northern Ireland revealed it had £4,000 of heating oil stolen over the Diamond Jubilee bank holiday.
Ms Moulds has urged the thieves to stop and asked the public for information on the crime.
"Such enormous quantities taken will have a significant impact on our school budget," she added.
The police are looking into the incident and believe the criminals went to and from the school in a dark-coloured long-wheelbase vehicle, possibly a Mitsubishi.
