BoilerJuice UK Domestic Heating Oil Price Trend for May 11th

11 May 2012

The price of home heating oil has dipped considerably over the past fortnight, hitting just under 60.25 pence per litre (excluding VAT) this morning (May 11th).

This is slightly more than the 60.22p per litre recorded yesterday, but is still a steep decline on the 60.45p per litre seen on Tuesday.

Prices had appeared to be stabilising somewhat after dipping to around 61.3p per litre on April 27th, but a sudden decrease on May 5th prompted another round of declining costs for the fuel.

Today's figures are well below the 63.8p per litre recorded at the start of April and could encourage heating oil customers to compare prices during BoilerJuice's buying weekend.

It follows a turbulent two weeks for the economy, with bickering between France and Germany over whether or not to retain the current austerity measures in place to try to help the markets.

Greece has also been unable to form a government since the election on May 6th, while the European Union has forecast that Spain will miss its budget deficit targets for both this year and 2013.
