The price of home heating oil has dipped to its lowest level in more than a month, hitting 61.3 pence per litre (excluding VAT) this morning (April 27th).
Prices were at just under 62.3p per litre this time last week, but had dipped to 61.9p per litre by April 24th and fell even further to reach today's low point.
This is despite home heating oil costs being boosted to 63.8p per litre at the start of the month.
Today's prices is the lowest since March 9th, but is still significantly more than the three-month low recorded on 30th January, which was approximately 58.5p per litre.
It comes after a week of poor economic performance in Europe, with the UK officially recorded as being in a double-dip recession and Spain's sovereign debt rating being downgraded by Standard & Poor.
Meanwhile, a smaller than expected decline in interest rates in the US prompted concerns about its own economic recovery.
The news could prompt homeowners in the UK to get quotes for cheap heating oil, perhaps taking advantage of BoilerJuice's Buying Weekends to ensure they have plenty in stock for what could be a cold May.
