The cost of red diesel in the UK has risen slightly over the last few days due to a hike early this week.
After remaining steady at between 70.2p and 70.3p per litre (ex VAT) for much of February, Monday (February 20th) saw the average price of the commodity rise.
It climbed from its weekend level of 70.32p per litre up to 70.62p, before minor falls yesterday and this morning resulted in it slipping back to 70.6p.
However, Monday's peak was the highest average price for red diesel in the UK since last March, when the cost of the fuel hit over 71.5p per litre.
The commodity may be impacted by rising wholesale prices for crude products, which have been affected by political tensions in the Middle East.
Over the weekend, it was reported that the cost of standard diesel has also hit a record high, the effects of which AA president Edmund King said "will be felt by everyone as higher transport costs are passed on to business and consumers".
